Fallen Angel Promotion is now representing Phoenix Effect. Althought the band is totally new you propably know people behind it, as the singer-guitarist of the band, Janne Kärkkäinen used to play in Sunrise Avenue. Sometime after his paths were separated with the other members of Sunrise Avenue in 2007, guitarist Janne Kärkkäinen hooked up with the lads from fellow band, Poets of the Fall. One thing led to another and fairly soon Janne found himself working on songs and ideas that had yet to see the light of day. "Mostly they were ideas and riffs I had written along the way. The Poets guys were kind enough to lend a hand where I got stuck and inspire me to keep going. It was absolutely brilliant." Within months Janne had compiled a nice bunch of completely new, totally rocking songs in a style of his own. The Phoenix had arisen. At the moment Phoenix Effect is concentrating on recording and producing its debut album, from the songs written during the winter and spring of 2007-2008. The album will be released in the beginnig of 2009. First single Broken Promises has just been taken to radio channels in Finland – and it has already gained radio play. The single will soon be released worldwide for instance through iTunes.
Fallen Angel Promotion is now representing Janna (Texicalli Records). Janna’s 2nd album The Makings Of Me will be released November 12th. At the same night Janna is playing a releasing gig at Belly, Helsinki (Uudenmaankatu 16). The first single from the album will soon be delivered to the radio channels. The Makings Of Me is produced by the same team, Tuomo Prättälä (Tuomo, Quintessence, Ilmiliekki Quartet, Emma Salokoski Ensemble) and Aki Haarala (Quintessence, Q-Continuum) which produced Janna’s debut album Right Now (released summer 2007). Janna has again composed the most of the songs on the album and co-written few of them with Prättälä, Haarala and Lasse Kurki (Lemonator). According to Janna The Makings Of Me is more soulful and personal as the debut album was. It also has certain rawness and disco beat in it. Janna will soon hit on the road with the 12-member orchestra which is playing on the album, too, as well as with a quintet. The Makings Of Me will be release in Europe and in Asia. Debut album Right Now reseaved positive reactions specially in Japan where commercial radios had Ferris Wheel-single in heavy rotation. During this autum Janna’s voice can be also heard on Ipanapa 2-album on which she has composed a Motown–song Et sä mua määrää. Ipanapa 2 will be released October 29th. Among Ipanapa-artists is also Anna Järvinen who composed and performed her first song in Finnish, Onnenpäivänen, to the album.
Fallen Angel Promotion celebrates it’s first anniversary by announcing that we’re now representing Muusa (Neverland Music) and Pin Ion (Grund Records). Muusa’s long waited 2nd album Mastodontti hit the stores October 15th. First single Nämä jäljet ei oo mitään has gained compliments in radio channels and will soon be released digitally. Singer Saara’s strong voice can be heard in cinemas, too. Saara has given her voice to Minna Haapkylä who is playing the main part in Erottamattomat. The film premieres Friday September 5th. Later on October we’re getting an album from Pin Ion. Band’s debut album Take Your Time is produced by drummer Petri’s brother Tuomas “Gary” Keskinen (Technicolour, Negative). First single Ordinary Special has just taken to radio channels. Johanna Iivanainen & 1N has also released a new single. Uniquely beautiful Pieneen tilaan will most certainly bring new fans to the band. Third album Outoja maita was released in April and it hit the official album chart in Finland.
